Hearth & HollisKitchen Studio · Mill Valley

Come and see where your cabinets get built.

The studio and the workshop are the same building on Miller Avenue. There is coffee, there is usually sawdust, and the person who answers the phone can walk twenty feet and look at your drawings.

Parking is easiest on Sunnyside Avenue. Children are genuinely welcome — there is a box of offcuts and a bag of wooden blocks behind the sample table.

Service areas

Where does Hearth & Hollis work?

We work throughout Mill Valley, Tiburon, Belvedere, Larkspur, Corte Madera, Sausalito, Ross, Kentfield and San Rafael, California — and almost every project sits within fifteen minutes of the shop.

That radius is deliberate. Our project lead visits every active site daily, and cabinetry adjustments come from a workshop you could drive to in your slippers.

01

Mill Valley

Our home town. Sycamore Park, Homestead Valley, Tam Valley and Cascade Canyon — mostly mid-century houses with kitchens that were never meant to be shared.

02

Tiburon & Belvedere

Hillside homes where the kitchen usually has the best view in the house and almost never uses it. That is normally the first thing we change.

03

Larkspur & Corte Madera

Family neighbourhoods, school runs, and kitchens that need to survive three children and a labrador. Our busiest bracket by some distance.

04

Sausalito

Tight footprints and tricky access. Small kitchens reward good design more than large ones do — there is nowhere for a mistake to hide.

05

Ross & Kentfield

Older, larger houses where the kitchen was originally built for staff. Opening those up is some of the most satisfying work we do.

06

San Rafael

From Dominican to Terra Linda. A broad mix, and the area where a renovation rather than a full remodel is most often the honest answer.

Not ready for a visit? Just ask.

Questions about timelines, materials, or whether your layout is worth changing are welcome with no commitment attached. We answer them properly, usually the same day.

I emailed a photo of my kitchen expecting a brochure. I got three paragraphs about why my fridge was in the wrong place. They were right.
